This article posted on Boston is a article of great use for my upcoming paper. It explains how the U.S has been involved in Iraq for twenty years so far. This article can be used to back up why Iraq's see the U.S in a negative light. For example, the U.S led sanctions on Iraq from 1990 to 2003 has estimated to have caused between 300,000 and 500,000 Iraqis deaths. Even though they were originally meant to punish the Government of Iraq it mostly hurt the citizens. Riverbend see's how Iraqi's feel towards the U.S while the U.S troops wonder why they aren't openly welcomed for coming in with tanks and military raids. In all, this article would be very useful as a source for historic Iraq dealings with the U.S

Article

The article posted by The UN Refugee Agency indicates that a large amount of refugees returning back to post-invasion Iraq are unsatisfied with the condition of the country and many may not even stay. This would be an excellent article to use for my paper because it backs up the theme from Baghdad Burning of how the U.S.'s invasion has left Iraq worse off. For example, 87 per cent of Iraqi's are economically stable to provide what they need for their families. The fact's presented in the article are symbolize the current conditions Iraqi's are facing non the less returning refugee's. Hardships will be made as Iraq rebuilds what was destroyed during the 2003 Invasion.

At the height of the Iraq war the U.S was giving out contracts to Blackwater to work as body guards for key U.S. diplomats. During which multiple incident's of Blackwater employees killing unarmed civilians took place. Due to this outrage the Iraqi Government let their operating license in the country expire in 2009.

Theme: Discontent towards America
Theme = Discontent towards America
"Most families don't go to the Americans to tell about an abduction because they know it's useless." pg. 37
"I am constantly reminded of the 3,000 Americans who died that day [9/11]... and asked to put behind me the 8,000 worthless Iraqis we lost to missiles, tanks and guns." pg. 46
"They question why we mourn our dead instead of gratefully offering them as sacrifices to the Gods of Democracy and Liberty." pg. 46
"To make matters worse, Rumsfeld is in Iraq. It's awful to see him strutting all over he place. I hate the hard, smug look that seems plastered on his face..." pg. 51
"Seeing Rumsfeld is something else---there's resentment and disgust." pg. 51
